The grisly, fairytale-like setting is just an extra bonus.. I do give it a thumbs up but I'm not sure why as it's quite an oddity...I'd say this is a bit of a point'n'click (where you have to point'n'click with the speed and precision of an FPS occassionally) with a hidden object vibe to it as well...The very odd style of the graphics doesn't make it less confusing.The gameplay is (at least as far as I've reached, this is a first impression) that you reveal things on the body which you click and they may also have bugs flying around that you click and it may also happen that you need to apply a face or bandaid to the patient. (the bandaid bit is about timing as it swivels around a center point and you need to release the mouse button as it reaches the corresponding angle to what the game asks for it to be in)I don't regret buying it but I'm not sure I can tell anyone to buy it, it's very much a divisive game, either you'll find it good/fascinating or you won't and it's not the kind of game that can be sold through hype, if you look at the trailer and feel intrigued you are the target audience as the "WTH is this?" trailer is what made me buy the game... (and in a confusing way like it even though I can't state why...). Wunderdoktor? Wie wundervoll!Funny enough I decided to play this becuase I was sick myself, hey what else am I gonna do but lay in bed and play games?Wunderdoktor is basically a collection of Wario Ware like mini games, wrapped in a creepy-cute narrative. The closest I can compare it to would be Little Inferno.It will last you 1-3 hours, depending on how good you are at mouse controlled quick time events. Difficulty is fairly easy. You got limited time to cure a patient of their various diseases. Diseases are treated by clicking, dragging or solving very basic trial & error puzzles. If you fail you simply have to restart with that patient until you succeed and move on to the next patient. Rinse and repeat.It has a rather unique presenation, you could call it morbidly charming? I dig it, it may not be to everyone's taste.. Treat a stream of patients with increasingly strange afflictions! As a wunderdoktor on a train, you treat those who come to you by cutting their, uh, head-mushrooms and removing their... chest crystals? You don’t need to know how it works, just make sure to help everyone before the time runs out! The game is simple and fun, but also has little side quests (of sorts). The art, music and sound all give the game a whimsical feel, and it’s nice to traverse different areas as you journey across the land. If this fun oddity sounds appealing to you, I suggest you try out Wunderdoktor!. Thoroughly enjoyable and underrated game with a German shtick.Great fun and I'm only disapointed that the game seems to have flown completely under the radar, but that's steam nowadays I suppose.
